Interfaith Burial

Since the founding of the cemetery 125 years ago, times have changed. The world has become more inclusive as traditional religious and cultural boundaries have faded.

Changing customs and updated interpretations of Jewish laws are part of the fabric of each generation's daily lives.

The Association has come to realize that the Jewish Community that we were founded to serve can, and often does, extend beyond Jewish individuals. Our mission is not so narrow to only serve Jews but has evolved to include those who support and consider themselves a part of the Jewish Community, no matter what their faith.

"... and we bury the dead of the non-Jews with the dead of the Jews because of the ways of peace."

Talmud Gittin 61a
